The awarding of PGI status for West Country Beef and West Country Lamb means that producers in the region have an exclusive right to use that name and logo for their products.

As registered products West Country Beef and West Country Lamb must be produced in accordance with the specification. To qualify, criteria fulfilled will include beef and lamb coming from stock born, raised and finished in Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Dorset or Wiltshire and fed at least a 70% forage-based diet.

Producer to producer or producer livestock market sales:

Livestock sold through markets and from producer to producer can also be badged as West Country Beef and West Country Lamb. In each case producers are required to complete a self-declaration form. The declaration forms can be downloaded by clicking the links below:
